of service, fair and ethical dealing and optimum customer satisfaction at all times. If ever you are not
satisfied with a transaction, PLEASE TELL US.
HOW TO PAY: We accept PayPal. However, orders over US$500 must be paid by money order, bank draft or wire transfer
(wire transfer is quickest by far; email us for our bank details). We also accept checks in US dollars written on a US bank if your order comes to less than US$100. We also accept UK cheques in UK pounds when the order is less than UK£100. We can accept a maximum of US$100 or UK£100 in total check/cheque payments from
the same customer per one 30-day period. Orders worth more than US$100 or UK£100 must be paid by money
order, bank draft or wire transfer (wire transfer is quicker; email us for our bank details). We accept bank drafts
and money orders in US dollars issued by a US-based bank. We also accept money orders and bank drafts in UK pounds
issued by a UK-based bank. We reserve the right to return any money order that appears to lack security or validity.
Money orders, postal orders and bank drafts in US dollars or UK pounds must be payable to A.ACKROYD.
We also accept cash in US dollars and UK pounds.
If sending us significant amounts of cash, we recommend using insured mail that is well sealed using a strong opaque and clearly addressed envelope. Please do not send coins.
We accept payment via PayPal, when the amount is under $500, however we will only ship to your PayPal-confirmed address.
Orders larger than this must be paid by money order, bank draft, or wire transfer (wire transfer is the quickest method; email us for our bank details). Full payment must accompany your order. We do not send
items on approval or offer payment-on-delivery arrangements. We reserve the right to refuse any credit card order
without giving a reason. With regards paying by money order or bank draft or cheque, we dispatch the goods as soon as the payment clears
into our bank account. This can be up to about 14 days with US dollar payments and up to about 7 days with payments in UK pounds.
REFUNDS FOR ITEMS WE CAN'T SUPPLY: We charge you only for those
items we actually supply to you. If you pay by bank draft, check, money order or postal order, and it transpires that
one or more items you ordered are sold out by the time we receive your payment, we will send a CREDIT NOTE in respect of that/those item(s). You can use this to pay (or part-pay) for a future order from us.
RETURNING GOODS: If you pay by PayPal, we can give you a partial refund where appropriate. Where a payment was not made by PayPal, we will issue a credit note number in respect of qualifying returns.
To qualify for credit in respect of any returns, returned items must be sent back to us within 21
days after we dispatch your order and you must enclose an explanation of your reason for returning it.
If you return an item because you ordered it in error or later decided you didn't want it after all,
or don't enclose your reasons with the returned item, we will credit you with the amount you paid for the item (not including
shipping charges), minus a 15% restocking charge. If the item was wrongly described in our list, we will send you credit for the full price you paid for the
note plus your postage/shipping costs incurred when returning the note. It is important that you return the items in
exactly the same condition you received them, otherwise a deduction, reflecting the banknotes
reduction in value, will be made from your credit due. Credit will be given in the form of
a credit note code number. To use it against a future order, simply quote the credit note code number along with
your order.
ITEMS LOST IN TRANSIT (rare!): In most developed countries, loss of items in the mail
is rare. If you have paid for
Guaranteed Shipping, and your item is lost in the post (rare in most
countries), we will refund the full amount you paid for your order or replace
the lost goods, or replace as much of your lost goods as possible and refund
the balance, provided you supplied correct delivery address
information when you placed the order. If you supplied a non-existent or incorrect address,
we will not be held responsible for attempting to secure compensation for you and subsequently refunding or replace
the lost goods. However, if the package is returned to us by the mail service, we will certainly forward it on to
you if you pay us the shipping cost again and supply a corrected address to send it to.
We will send you a refund, or the goods you ordered, or a combination of both, immediately if we cannot prove
that the item was ever dispatched. (We rarely make mistakes like that, but it is not an unforseeable event).
If we can prove that the item was dispatched, we will
dispatch your refund and/or replacement items only after we have received verification
by the relevant postal services that your item has indeed been lost in the post. In most cases our
investigations reveal that a package is being held in the recipient's local mail sorting office awaiting collection after delivery was attempted
unsucessfully (e.g., the recipient was not at home to sign for the package). Be aware
that some postal services (that of the USA, for example) can sometimes take several
weeks to complete their mail-tracking procedure and provide us with the results.
We stress again, that loss in the post is rare. If you have opted for ordinary, uninsured
land+air mail at your risk, we will normally provide no compensation in the unlikely event that your package goes
missing, or the contents are damaged, during transit in the mail.
SPEED OF SERVICE: We are renowned for our fast service. Over 90% of
all orders are filled and dispatched by the end of the next working day after
we receive your order and cleared payment.
AVAILABILITY OF ITEMS: We endeavor to keep our stock lists as up
to date as possible. However, it is possible that one or more items may be
sold out by the time your order reaches us. Many notes are held in small
numbers, so first come, first served.
DISCOUNT: Our prices are already discounted! Sorry, we do not offer any additional discount, either to
dealers or to private collectors. Our prices are as low as we can
afford to go. The only exception is when you are buying multiples (10+) of
a single item. Then we may be able to offer additional discount.
OUR LISTS: The items in our lists are believed to be accurately
described. We reserve the right to withdraw any item from sale if it is
discovered to have been wrongly described.
OFFERING US YOUR UNWANTED ITEMS: We are interested in your spare banknotes, cheques, etc.,
if they are each worth over $8.00 approx, retail. If a note is worth less than
this, we can only take it if you have several, all the same, and all the
same condition. To make an offer, we must see the notes 'in the flesh'. We
cannot make offers based on photocopies, scans or worded descriptions. In
all cases, please do not send us anything for our approval without contacting
us first to ask if we may be interested.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IDENTITY OR VALUES OF ITEMS YOU OR YOUR FRIENDS/RELATIVES POSSESS
OWN: Due to the limited time we have available we do not offer a free valuation service. However, for you valuation needs, we offer a wide range of reference books and value guides at our
Books Department.
